Acceleration Programme

This programme can be used for optimising a motorcycle in order to maximise either the top speed or to minimize the time taken to cover a certain distance. The starting speed can be be input to the programme meaning that the programme can be used for short circuit racing. Hence the programme can be used by Bonneville racers, drag racers or short circuit racers.

Example

The image below shows the computed output for an 80cc racing motorcycle used for short circuit racing. The output shows the time taken to reach certain distances such as 200m etc plus the top speed. If your aim is to minimise the time taken to cover a standing 400m, then the sprockets can be changed until the time taken is minimised - perfect for drag racing and sprinting

TorqSoft - Acceleration Programme

In the example above, the 0 to 400m time is calculate at 14.47 secs. The image below shows the computed output for a 14 th front sprocket as opposed to the 16 used in the first example. It is evident that the 0 to 400m time as been reduced to 14.06 secs, a very healthy reduction of 0.41 secs.

The image below shows a repeat running of the programme but this time the "show optimum rpm" check box has been ticked. Changing gear at precisely the correct rpm will maximise performance.

The programme is perfect for setting up a motorcycle or streamliner for Bonneville. You can try what if parameters such as changing the aerodynamics of the vehicle then compute the top speed potential.
